As watches go Samsung has been competing head on with a whole bunch of brands including the Apple watch, now it appears that the big South Korean brand is looking to gain street cred in the active measurement market, with a top end slick looking Galaxy Watch 5 Pro that will take on the likes of Garmin and Suunto in the measurement of one’s health and sporting activities and you can even measure whether you get stressed during sex.

There is also a new Galaxy Watch 5 model, however in today’s market a top end watch that not only needs to look good it has to deliver a vast amount of accurate data and that’s where Samsung is looking to grow share with a new combination of processor and software that is now packed into their latest Galaxy Watch offering.

At the heart of the new Galaxy Watch5 is a Samsung developed BioActive Sensor specifically upgraded to deliver digital health monitoring.

First introduced on the Galaxy Watch4 series, the BioActive Sensor uses a single unique chip that combines three powerful health sensors – Optical Heart Rate, Electrical Heart Signal and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis – to deliver extensive readings that include heart rate, blood oxygen level, and even stress level.

In addition, users can get a deeper understanding of their heart health by monitoring blood pressure and ECG – right from their wrist.

This was approved in Australia last year.

Externally Samsung has redesigned their watches to deliver an increased surface area and more direct contact with your wrist, allowing their new watch to track health metrics with even greater accuracy than Galaxy Watch4.

The powerful 3-in-1 BioActive Sensor works in combination with the other sensors of Galaxy Watch5 series, including the newly introduced temperature sensor, so that you can measure your body temperature by simply looking at your watch or on your Samsung Android smartphone.

The temperature sensor uses infrared technology for accurate readings, even if the temperature of your surroundings changes.

There is also a body composition measurement tool built in that helps users to get access to a complete snapshot of your overall health which for some people could be a useful wake up call.

Beyond the body measurement and giving people wake up calls the new Galaxy watch can also measure your sleep pattern which Samsung claims is important.

And if this is what is needed in your life you can also take advantage of Samsungs new sleep coaching feature that gives a tailored month-long guided program to how to sleep better. Some experts will tell you that sex and grog is also good for a good night’s sleep.

It can also measure the stress levels that sex brings on.

The Galaxy Watch5 Pro is made from premium materials and features Sapphire Crystal that resists wear and tear and a durable titanium casing that protects the display with a protruded bezel design.

The device also comes with an all-new D-Buckle Sport Band that offers rugged durability with a sleek and clean fit; it also has a new large battery that is 60% larger than Galaxy Watch4.

The Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro are available for pre-order in select markets starting on August 11, with retail availability starting September 2.

Pricing for the Watch5 begins at $499 for the 40mm option, with the Watch5 Pro available from $799.
